The Frost Mage Leveling Guide For Glyphs

Frost Mage Leveling Guide – Glyph Mechanics

Level faster and with less effort – this is what this Frost Mage leveling guide for Glyphs is about. The Frost Mage is obviously a great choice to dish out AoE damage and survive it. Before we choose the Glyphs to support this strategy, let’s take a look at when you actually obtain more Glyph slots:

1. Level 15: 1 Major, 1 Minor

2. Level 30: 2 Major, 1 Minor

3. Level 50: 2 Major, 2 Minor

4. Level 70: 2 Major, 3 Minor

5. Level 80: 3 Major, 3 Minor

The next step is choosing the optimal Glyphs to support your AoE strategy:

Mage Leveling Guide – Glyphs To Boost The Frost Mages Leveling Speed

Frost Nova – Level 15 – Major Glyph

Your Frost Nova targets can take an additional 20% damage before the Frost Nova effect automatically breaks

Ice Armor – Level 15 – Major Glyph

Your Ice Armor and Frost Armor spells grant an additional 50% armor and resistance

Ice Barrier – Level 46 – Major Glyph

Increases the amount of damage absorbed by your Ice Barrier by 30%

Arcane Intellect – Level 15 – Minor Glyph

Reduces the mana cost of your Arcane Intellect and Arcane Brilliance spells by 50%

Frost Armor – Level 15 – Minor Glyph

Increases the duration of your Frost Armor and Ice Armor spells by 30 min

Slow Fall – Level 15 – Minor Glyphes

Your Slow Fall spell no longer requires a reagent.

Mage Leveling Guide – The Best Order To Use Glyphs

The first Major Glyph is an obvious choice: Frost Mages greatly depend on Frost Nova, so Glyph: Frost Nova should be your first one. We suggest you to choose Frost Armor as the first Minor Glyph so you don’t have to remember to recast it all the time.

Level 30, second slot, second easy decision: Ice Armor. It increases the Frost Mages survivability and is very useful for your AoE tactics.

Now, at level 46 it gets tricky. You have to decide whether you want Ice Armor or Ice Barrier in your second slot. In case you are overwhelmed by multiple mobs more often, go for Ice Barrier to save your life more often. If you get hit only a few times, stay with Ice Armor and reap the benefit more often.

As for the remaining Minor Glyphs it’s up to you. Slow Fall is useful if you actually fall down cliffs sometimes AND forget to buy 1-2 reagents (that shouldn’t happen often!). Arcane Intellect will reduce your downtimes by a very small amount.

I hope you got some value out of this Frost Mage Leveling Guide – we put a lot of thought and research into this. If you get your AoE strategy dialed, you’ll level very fast.
